Whether tenants live in a communal building or a standalone house, they can benefit from having an RF system built in so some areas can have easy access.

For car parks, RF receivers are very handy and we wanted to let you know why. Let’s talk about the RF products Intratone supplies and their functionality.

What is an RF System?

An RF system has a receiver and a certain amount of transmitters that allow somebody with a transmitter to send a signal through the airwaves to a relatively nearby receiver, remotely unlocking a bolt in the process to open a door, for instance.

The technology has been around for some time and has been installed in many homes up and down the country.

RF Systems Can Offer Convenience

If there is an RF system built into a property to enter a car park, this can be a real-time and effort saver.

For instance, the installation stops tenants needing to get out of their car to manually open the garage or car park door every time they approach the property. Instead, they’ll have a fob, which is the transmitter, and with the press of a button, they can open the car park to allow them in. The same goes for exiting the car park too.

Imagine it’s raining heavily and the last thing someone wants to do is step out of a car and dash over to a door to open it. This makes life so much easier.

Heightened Security with an RF System

On top of that, there’s an added security layer to the RF system too. Physical keys for car parks or garage doors pose a security risk if they are lost or stolen, especially if they’re a communal key for numerous people. Having an RF transmitter reduces this risk because you, the property manager, can easily deactivate the transmitter via the Intratone remote management portal, and then give out a new transmitter that has been reassigned to the receiver.

If any transmitters become jeopardised by falling into the wrong hands, or simply if somebody is moving out, it’s easy to deactivate a transmitter when they’re departing. Interference from other signals is very unlikely, ensuring peace of mind.

You also can check the remote management portal from wherever you are to see when the car park was accessed and by whom, increasing the overall security by having somebody trusted to monitor ongoing operations.

As a property manager, you should pass along the instructions for use to the tenants when they move in and check that it is working before you leave. It’s part of your duty to make sure everything within the premises is functioning correctly and that the tenants feel safe in their homes.
